Pat McGrath Brings Runway Precision to Louis Vuitton’s New Lip Liner

Louis Vuitton is expanding its La Beauté universe with the arrival of the LV Crayon, a monogram-shaped lip liner that brings runway level precision to everyday beauty.
It’s the vision of Dame Pat McGrath, Creative Director of Cosmetics for La Beauté Louis Vuitton. The LV Crayon is born from a technique she has refined across more than two decades backstage at Louis Vuitton shows. “Every look I have ever created on the Louis Vuitton runway begins with the lip line. It is where precision becomes art,” she says.
The pencil is as much an objet d’art as a make-up tool. Its distinctive monogram flower shape, designed with craftsman Konstantin Grcic, aids application control, while a luxurious matte black wood body and gold monogram flower cap echo the codes of the broader La Beauté collection.
The formula is equally considered. Infused with peptides, the LV Crayon glides on with a creamy, melting texture that promises all-day wear, 24-hour hydration, visible plumping, and 12-hour colour payoff. It is designed to complement the existing LV Rouge lipstick and LV Baume ranges.

The ten-shade collection is where McGrath’s philosophy is perhaps most clearly felt. “The finest nudes and rosewoods, each one chosen with absolute precision,” she says of her edit, which spans from the warm nude 190 Beige Atlas to the deep bordeaux 896 Monogram Rouge, anchored by what she calls a fearless selection of iconic LV reds.
The LV Crayon is priced at £43 and is accompanied by a Lip Blending Brush (£87), a collectible Beauty Sharpener (£345), and a Monogram canvas Lip Pencil Case (£740). Available in selected Louis Vuitton stores and at louisvuitton.com.
