Jacob Elordi Is Bleu, And The Internet Has Never Been More Ready
A month after he was revealed to be Chanel’s new mystery man, Jacob Elordi’s first Bleu de Chanel campaign has been unveiled.
Last month, Chanel broke the internet when Jacob Elordi was announced as the new face of the iconic Bleu de Chanel L’Exclusif fragrance. Strong, tall, mysterious and following in the footsteps of the only other Oscar nominated actor to be dating a Jenner sister, Elordi is the perfect person to take the baton from Timothée Chalamet.
Having already starred in the Chanel No5 fragrance campaign alongside fellow “Wuthering Heights” star Margot Robbie, Elordi is well-versed in the world of Chanel, and embodies the “freedom, mystery and magnetism” of Bleu de Chanel L’Exclusif.
In the long, arduous month between the announcement and the campaign’s debut, fans rightfully speculated that it would be a cinematic affair, thanks to Elordi’s outspoken passion for the artform. What they perhaps didn’t expect, however, was that the campaign would tap into the cheeky side of the actor’s nature, too.
After playing a series of brooding characters in succession (Elvis Presley in Priscilla, Nate Jacobs in Euphoria and, of course, Heathcliffe), seeing Elordi tap into his mischievous side, playing a game of cat-and-mouse over a bottle of perfume with a Bond-girl type figure, is incredibly refreshing and devastatingly charming. Directed by Alfonso Cuarón, Elordi presents the Bleu de Chanel man as sophisticated yet playful, mysterious yet charming; the type of protagonist every man would want to smell like.
