Dior Paradise is an ode to Christian Dior’s treasured Southern Provence escape
Sunshine, bitter almonds and the quiet luxury of the French Riviera Dior's newest scent is as close to paradise as a fragrance can get.
Located on the French Riviera, Grasse is widely celebrated as the world’s perfume capital. For Christian Dior, however, it was more than a place from which to extract oils from jasmine, lavender and the centifolia rose which sits at the centre of the Miss Dior scent profile, but a haven where he spent hours drawing and luxuriating in nature.
For the new La Collection Privée scent, Perfume Creation Director Francis Kurkdjian has unveiled an aroma inspired by the Châtaeu de La Colle Noire, Christian Dior’s Grasse hideaway. Part of Kurkdjian’s continued effort to create an olfactory tribute to the brand’s founder, Dior Paradise harbors a radiant and woody aroma that pays homage to these tender memories, and the almond trees that blossomed around them.
The almond trees at the Châtaeu de La Colle Noire were planted by Christian Dior in an attempt to recreate the lost Eden of his childhood garden in Granville. The scent, however, disregards notes of melancholy for notes of joy and delight in nature’s gifts. As a true ode to Christian Dior’s spirit, tonka beans and notes of citrus are present, reminiscent of the bitter almond cocktails he would sip as he enjoyed the fruits of the garden. The result is a biscuity, sunkissed scent. Warm from bitter almond, but lifted by citrus notes, it encapsulates the variety of greenery present at the Châtaeu de La Colle Noire, and the feeling of the first sip of a summer’s drink.
Dior Paradise will be available from June 2026, just in time for the warmer months.
