Burberry taps London legend Olivia Dean for the scent inspired by the city

London's most beloved fruity fragrance gets a sultrier, cherry-kissed update for spring deeper, more intoxicating and exactly what the warmer months called for.
Though musk and oud notes never go out of style, Spring is the perfect time to find a lighter, more playful scent to take you through the longer days. Burberry Her is a timeless Fruity Gourmand that’s had a spring glow up, with elegant campaign imagery to match, of course.
The original Burberry Her is a light fragrance with a sickly-sweet lingering aroma of strawberries and violet, but the new edition is slightly more grown up. Burberry swapped out strawberries for sultrier cherries, and violet for a deep patchouli and amber accord, but kept the sweet vanilla aftertaste so it’s still uber-feminine and intoxicating.
Burberry Her was designed to be an ode to London, the more pleasant scents of the city bottled up (think cherry blossoms and caramelised nuts instead of leaky drainpipes and C02 emissions). The original campaign was shot with OG London it-girl Cara Delevingne as the poster-girl, but the new iteration is equally as iconic, featuring singer-of-the-moment Olivia Dean. Dean references the city’s ethereal but ephemeral cherry blossoms as the inspiration for the perfume’s top notes, and has even written an original piece to soundtrack the campaign video, from the perspective of the starlings circling the city’s skyline. “Its all about being in the sky and feeling free”, she explains, and “feeling untouchable in your womanhood”.
The bottle has also been upgraded for a sheer glass to an opaque matte baby pink. Modern and feminine but with a slightly deeper edge, the new Burberry Her is the ultimate transitional fragrance as we move into the warmer season. Get your hands on a bottle in store or online at Selfridges.
