A dive into the beauty behind the Dior Cruise 2027 show

When Jonathon Anderson presented his first Dior Cruise collection earlier this month, it wasn’t only the clothes on display that made a splash, but the beauty, too. For the show, Creative Director of Christian Dior Makeup, Peter Philips, artfully designed luminous beauty looks for the models, inspired by the “cinematic fifties-style décor” of the Los Angeles County Art Museum.

The makeup looks perfectly complimented the Old Hollywood inspired Cruise collection, characterised by radiant bases and curled lashes. For the perfect luminous base, Philips used the Dior Les Patchs Yeux and Dior Capture to prep the skin, which he layered with the infamous Dior Forever Skin Glow. Natural lips enhanced by the Dior Addict Lip Maximizer in 001 Pink allowed for the crystals which adorned some of the models’ lashlines to take centre stage. Using the Dior Top Coat and Nail Glow, Philips cemented a newspaper design onto some of the models’ nails.

The catwalk looks were a far cry from the looks Pat McGrath created for Galliano’s ’00s Dior runways, but were quintessentially Anderson, and beautifully complimented the glamour of the Golden Age Hollywood couture collection.
