The Best Dressed at Cannes 2026

For some, the changing of the clocks or the arrival of cherry blossom trees paving the streets might signal the start of summer. But for film lovers and fashionistas alike, it’s the Cannes Film Festival that announces the change in season. To celebrate, we’re sharing a handful of our favourite looks from the 79th annual film festival red carpets.

Bella Hadid in Schiaparelli

From it-girl to it-girl, for the De Gaulle: Tilting Iron premiere, Bella Hadid wore a custom Schiaparelli gown inspired by Jane Birkin. The plunging dress was an interpolation of the gown Birkin wore for the Union of Artists Gala in Paris in 1969, fitted with a corset for a more 2026-appropriate version of the already timeless dress. A true labour of love, Hadid’s dress took a cool 22,160 hours of embroidery work.

Colman Domingo in Valentino & Boucheron

In a sea of plain black suits, there’s one man you can always count on to bring a pop of colour to the red carpet, and that’s Colman Domingo. For the Garance premiere, Domingo wore a royal purple blouse complete with a sheer, shimmery cape by Valentino. What really pulled the look together, however, was the jewellery by Boucheron: diamond encrusted rings and a matching brooch in place of a tie.

Demi Moore in Matières Fécales

Matières Fécales dominated the 2026 Met Gala (Sarah Paulson and María Zardoya’s looks stand amongst my favourites in Met Gala history), and if Demi Moore’s Cannes Film Festival appearance is anything to go by, the brand isn’t slowing down anytime soon. For the festival’s opening ceremony, Moore donned a gown from the House’s Fall 2026 runway collection. In true Matières Fécales style, the striking pink ballgown featured an exaggerated ripped hem and an oversized bow across the neckline.

Luther Ford in Saint Laurent

Apart from a short stint as a young Prince Harry in The Crown, the world has yet to see much of Luther Ford… until now. Ford stars in The Man I Love, which received one of those coveted 10-minute standing ovations at the Cannes Film Festival the internet loses its mind over (surely it gets a little awkward after about three minutes, no?). Though I’m sure the film is fabulous, what caught my attention was the decadent pearl and diamond brooch Ford wore on the lapel of his tuxedo. Unfortunately we’re yet to know who designed the brooch or the rest of the suave tie-less ensemble, but the intrigue alone is enough to pique our interest.

Charles Leclerc in Giorgio Armani

At the premiere of A Woman’s Life, Formula 1 heartthrob Charles Leclerc stayed true to his refined personal style in a midnight blue Armani tuxedo, complete with satin lapels and a blingy brooch.

Cara Delevingne in Tom Ford by Haider Ackerman

You can’t go wrong with a little black dress, especially not when it’s designed by Haider Ackerman’s Tom Ford. For the premiere of Club Kid, Delevingne wore a vampy halter neck dress complete with cascading ruffles.

Barbara Palvin in Miu Miu

Perhaps the most talked about event from the 79th annual festival was Barbara Palvin’s pregnancy announcement. Debuting the news to the world, she attended the premiere of Parallel Tales alongside husband Dylan Sprouse in a powdery blue Miu Miu gown plucked straight out of Bridgerton.

Diamant Blazi in Giorgio Armani

When it comes to menswear at Cannes, Giorgio Armani reigns supreme. Basketballer Diamant Blazi might have over 3 million Instagram followers, but so far his fanbase has been limited to sports superfans. That was until his appearance at the L’Abandon premiere, where the 6’8” athlete stood out not only for his height, but his dapper style. He paired a crisp Giorgio Armani tux with an oversized crucifix pendant emblazoned with his own name, a fresh set of grillz and a £300,000 diamond encrusted Patek Philippe watch. Not bad for 20 years old.
