Sun, Sport and Savoir-Faire for the New Louis Vuitton SS26 Resort Collection

Louis Vuitton’s SS26 Resort Collection is a chic marriage of playful motifs and elegant silhouettes.
When it comes to seasonal fashion drops, resort collections are always my favourite. Not quite as flashy as the runway collections presented for winter and summer, these ready-to-wear capsules retain the high fashion elegance and House spirit, but as wearability is the core principle, they allow for deeper connection and accessibility between brand and consumer. Louis Vuitton’s SS26 Resort Collection might just be one of the best we’ve seen so far.
Since Pharrell Williams’ appointment as Men’s Creative Director, sport (which has always been a core pillar of the brand’s identity) has become even more intrinsic to the Louis Vuitton fabric. From the release of Williams’ Speedy P9 bag, to the appointment of multiple sport-star Brand Ambassadors, the intersection between fashion and athletics is something we have seen across Louis Vuitton menswear campaigns, but the SS26 Resort Collection sees the inclusion of sport style codes across womenswear, too. Bermuda shorts, polo shirts and monogrammed surf boards form part of the collection which draws upon neo-sixties beachwear influences.
The playful essence of summer is also present in the half-eaten ice cream print that features across swimwear and t-shirts, and in the limited edition Ace Ball bag, shaped like a beach volleyball. Although playfulness is an intrinsic pillar of the Resort Collection, so is elegance. This is Louis Vuitton, after all. Spaghetti strap linen dresses with vintage embroidery work make the perfect transitional piece for poolside rendezvous by day and swanning about the piazzetta by night. As wide-leg silhouettes make their way back in fashion, the Resort Collection includes a pair of elegant yet nonchalant silk palazzo pants, as luxurious as they are comfortable.
Jewels complete the collection, in both enamel stone necklaces and the LV Treasure Thong Sandals. With a range of playful motifs, classic silhouettes and elevated basics, the Louis Vuitton SS26 Resort Collection is the only place you’ll need to shop for your Euro-summer wardrobe.
