Stella McCartney’s sustainable Spring 2027 capsule is an ode to the House’s timeless nature

Stella McCartney is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. As the brand has been a pioneer for sustainable luxury for a quarter of a century,  it makes sense that the new Spring 2027 capsule would revisit previous Stella McCartney motifs, because sustainability never goes out of style.

Specifically, the collection references moments from the Winter 2026 runway show, as well as fashionable motifs from the ‘80s and ’90s. Maximalist taffeta, ruffles and crystals inspired beautifully juxtapose more contemporary crisp, oversized suits and slouchy wool knits. Referencing the eternal nature of both the House and the concept of sustainable luxury itself, drapery remains a central motif to the collection as is concurrent with the rest of the brand’s portfolio. Fluid jersey wraps around the body’s contours for a sensual day-to-night look. 

The collection also makes references to McCartney’s childhood, like the ‘Hi Hi Hi’ jumper which takes its cue from one of Paul McCartney’s wardrobe staples. Elsewhere, we see woodland creatures and florals; a nod to both childhood whimsy and the importance of nature as fashion’s greatest luxury asset.
