Roger Vivier opens a new flagship store in Paris
Roger Vivier's new Paris flagship is part love letter to the maison's storied history, part made-to-order dream and it might just be the best reason to book a flight to the city of light.
Is there anything better than Paris in Spring? Blooming cherry blossoms, the sun dancing across the Seine and the height of apéritif culture… the only thing better than all of this is the shopping, and Roger Vivier has just opened up a new flagship store, offering up the city’s best luxury retail experience.
Situated at 20 rue de Faubourg Saint-Honoré, the new boutique is a contemporary site paying homage to Roger Vivier’s history and vision. ‘Boutique’ may be a slight understatement, actually, because it spans two entire floors. Sitting moments away from the inaugural 1937 Roger Vivier atelier one rue Royale, the interior is a chic blend of modern and antique; an expansive, minimalist space furnished with heirlooms from both Louis XIV and XVI, lithographs by Picasso, and original artworks by Vivier himself.
A beautiful setting is all well and good, but it’s nothing without top-notch customer service to match. The store launch marks a new bespoke venture for the brand: the launch of Atelier Vivier, the maison’s first made-to-order offering. The service allows shoppers to customise their favourites from the collection (shoes, handbags, bridal, the lot) through a selection of materials, colours and finishings. The Atelier sits in the boutique’s own Salle d’Argent (silver room, for those who also struggled passing their GCSE French), inspired by Roger Vivier’s own studio in 1935, decked in silver wallpaper.
