From the Tennis Court to the Streets Ferragamo’s Citymatch Capsule Is Here

The marriage between sport and fashion is a tale as old as time. Heritage fashion Houses have long explored the intersection between sports style codes and luxury clothing, but just because it’s nothing new, that doesn’t mean we aren’t allowed to get excited about it. Especially when it’s done as well as Ferragamo does it. 

The Italian luxury fashion House has just debuted the new Citymatch capsule inspired by summer sports. Think: tennis, cricket and even the newly trending padel. It spans footwear, ready-to-wear and leather goods in classic Ferragamo silhouettes, redesigned through a sporty lens.

Navy, red and green are the name of the game here. Masculine and classic, these colours neatly transition between each arm of the capsule. In footwear, the colours appear on monochromatic calf leather sneakers with contrast stitching, emphasising movement and dynamism. The ready-to-wear collection centres around polo shirts, which have signalled the effortless transition between sports and luxury style for as long as the two have existed. They come with knit collars and contrast stitching for a comfortable yet classy evolution of the classic silhouette.

As for leatherwear, the backpack, shoulder bag and duffle bag are printed with the House’s signature Gancini detail, with red, green and navy accents. The capsule is sporty, elevated and in keeping with Ferragamo’s traditional Italian style codes, and we can’t get enough.
