ETRO's SS26 Modern Nomad campaign takes to the volcanic landscapes in a sun-drenched odyssey of crochet, paisley and '60s spirit and a Globe-Trotter suitcase to match.

Freedom is an integral part of the ETRO brand identity. Founded with bohemian spirit in the ’60s, the brand champions exploration, liberty and independence. Travel, of course, is intrinsically tied to these pillars, which is why the brand’s SS26 campaign takes the form of a journey.

The Modern Nomad campaign imagery sees the protagonists taking an odyssey through the landscapes of a volcanic island, reaching the point where nature and ETRO’s artisanal savoir-faire meet. The House’s ’60s spirit punctuates the imagery, not only through the dream-like camera filter used and vintage Jeep which forms part of the backdrop, but through the clothes on display, too.

Fluid, layered silhouettes crafted from traditional weaving techniques like crochet and twill can be seen across the collection, alongside flared denim and rainbow geometric patterns. It’s a trippy amalgamation of key ’60s and ’70s fashion motifs that wouldn’t be seen out of place in the golden era of Woodstock, but timeless enough to work for 2026, too.

Across menswear and womenswear, the colour palette of the collection is distinctly warm, inspired by hues seen in the natural volcanic lands of the shoot’s location. Think: ochre, coral red and lush greens. Across one arm of the collection, ETRO has collaborated with British artist Tabby Booth, who has created bespoke prints with deconstructed paisley and mythical animals which feature across caftans, kimonos, pyjamas and swimwear.

As the collection is inspired by travel, it’s only right that ETRO has created a suitcase set in collaboration with Globe-Trotter to complete the capsule. The suitcases feature a patch engraved with the words ‘Since 1968’ as an homage to the brand’s founding year. The pegasus detail further propels the spirit of freedom and discovery which underscores not only the SS26 collection, but ETRO’s entire brand identity.
