ETRO unveil the Vela Blossom, a soft, sophisticated renewal of the brand’s famous Vela Bag

ETRO's beloved Vela bag gets a softened, sun-warmed reinvention for 2026, same iconic silhouette, but looser, more lived-in, and soaked in the kind of effortless nostalgia that defines the moment. The it-bag just grew up.
Back in 2023 luxury bohemian brand ETRO debuted the Vela bag: a structured, V-shape bag centering the brand’s Pegaso medallion. Uniform and timeless, the collection debuted at the height of the clean-girl era. Though the bag is a true investment piece that has stood the test of time, the house has unveiled a more updated version for 2026 that is a little more worn-in, making it the perfect companion for the latter half of the 2020s; an era characterised by freedom and nostalgia.
Though the Vela Blossom is a reinvention, nostalgia remains central to its conception. ETRO is famed for having a colourful legacy, one that subscribes to nothing but non-conformity. This new interpretation of the Vela silhouette is a love-letter to the brand’s ‘60s genesis, when its popularity was credited to its use of soft silhouettes and bright paisley patterns.

That said, the restyle is subtle enough to still be part of the Vela collection. Holding onto the V-sillhouette, the most notable difference is the leather’s structure. Now more flexible and supple, the fabric rouches at the opening for a more slouchy, casual look, but still high-quality and polished enough to remain luxurious. The Pegaso medallion, previously in gold hardware, is now leather-clad for a more understated look now that quiet luxury is back in favour.

As for the colourways, the Vela Blossom comes in an earthy capsule made of plum, ivory, sand and black. There are also gradient versions in powdery blue and olive green that blend into a warm caramel brown, reflecting natural gradient shifts found in nature. Check it out here.
