Dsquared2 scores a deal with AS Roma

Sharper suits for Roma’s players, and a Romulus-and-Remus story behind the deal.
Roma’s players are trading their matchday tracksuits for something with a lot more Milan runway in it.
Dsquared2 has signed a multi-year deal to become the official fashion partner of AS Roma, one of Italy’s biggest football clubs, based in the capital and playing in Serie A, Italy’s top division. They’re taking over formalwear and casual uniforms for both the men’s and women’s first teams, plus coaching staff, starting this season. So expect considerably finer tailoring at press conferences and airport arrivals from here on. The full kit comes out later this year.
Dean and Dan Caten who are the twins that founded Dsquared2 in 1995, said the partnership felt personal because of Rome’s own founding story, of Romulus and Remus, twin brothers raised by a wolf. The Catens twins themselves drew the parallel straight from their own upbringing. Just as the wolf raised and guided the two brothers who founded Rome, the Catens were raised by their father, and they’ve said that shared “twins shaped by one figure” story is what makes the city feel meaningful to them.
AS Roma’s women’s team has also been on a serious run with three league titles in the last four seasons. On the men’s side, now under manager Gian Piero Gasperini, they’re playing out of the Stadio Olimpico, the same stadium that hosted the 1990 World Cup final.
