Marie-Laure Cérède's appointment is the most exciting news in fine jewellery this season, and we can't wait to see what she does next.

Hot off the press, Chanel has just announced that Marie-Laure Cérède will be joining the team as Director of the Chanel Jewellery Creation Studio. Having worked in creative direction at both Harry Winston and Cartier, Cérède joins the House with an impressive fine jewellery portfolio under her belt.

Having grown up in Gabon, Cérède is set to bring a fresh, exciting new lens to Chanel jewellery, having a sincere admiration for nature and worldwide cultures. Although we are excited to see what this will mean for Chanel, a brand rooted in Parisian style codes, Cérède has already stated that her greatest goal in her new position is to “question convention, redefine femininity, and express modernity”.

The news is particularly exciting, as the position has been left vacant since the passing of Patrice Leguéreau in 2024. Cérède’s appointment signals a new era for Chanel fine jewellery, and we look forward to seeing what she has in store.
