Canali announces Alesso Lillocci as new Creative Director
New Blood, Old Soul! The Next Generation of Carnali.
Contemporary menswear tailoring company, Carnali, has just announced the appointment of Alesso Lillocci as new Creative Director. The announcement marks a huge step forward for the family-run brand, tapping an external creative whose previous roster includes work with other Italian high-fashion brands such as Prada.
Though Lillocci is external to the Carnali family, his DNA is intrinsically tied to the brand’s. Hailing from Italy, Lillocci entered the world of fashion through his mother’s haberdashery, before moving on to work exclusively with luxury menswear.
The partnership represents a step forward for the brand which, though highly regarded in Italy, has yet to make a worldwide impact on the same scale as other contemporary menswear houses. That said, respect for the Maison’s history is central to the new chapter. Speaking on his appointment, Lillocci made sure to emphasise that “respecting the brand’s DNA” is central to his ethos as Creative Director.
