Burberry is making a splash with its High Summer 2026 campaign

Sun-soaked, check-printed and gloriously British Burberry's High Summer campaign is everything a lido summer should be.
Lidos have been a quintessential part of British summertime since the 1930s. From hearing stories from my grandparents’ childhoods at Butlin’s, to splashing about in the local open-air pool after school, to spending hungover Saturdays swimming lanes at Parliament Hill, lido culture has been a beacon of consistency throughout my summers, and the same can be said for probably every Brit.
That’s why British fashion house Burberry has taken things to the lido for their High Summer campaign. In recent years, the brand has really been playing up to its quintessentially English heritage by filming campaigns in typical greasy spoons and tapping national treasure Olivia Colman to serve fish and chips, and this latest installment offers up the same feelings of warmth and nostalgia.

Directed by Francis Plummer and shot by Ryan McGinley, British actors Simone Ashley and Tom Blyth lounge around the pool with models Ava Claire, Babacar N’Doye and Sacha Quenby. As for the backdrop, there’s a group of synchronised swimmers, divers and deckchairs claimed by Burberry towels (although I can’t say I recall many of those from my childhood spent at Hathersage Open Air Pool).
The High Summer collection on display highlights the signature Burberry Check in classic beige as well as pastel purple and cornflower blue. The pattern appears across a range of swimwear and on the trim of t-shirts, tank tops and shorts. Tapping into the lido theme, Burberry has dropped a beachy coverup with deckchair stripes. There’s also a Burberry Check Margate bag handcrafted with Madagascan palm leaves and matching slides. From full outfits to accessories, the collection is understated and nostalgic, reminiscent of 1930s Britain when lido culture first emerged.
