Berluti takes The Little Prince to a late 19th-century Parisian townhouse for SS27 and the result is a collection that asks you to look a little closer.

Berluti has once again staged its seasonal presentation at the Simone & Cino Del Duca Foundation in Paris, a late 19th-century townhouse on the edge of Parc Monceau that the Maison has now used for three consecutive years.

This year’s edition centres on the garden as a theme, with the presentation structured around the relationship between creative inspiration and the craft processes that translate it into finished objects. Floral motifs run throughout the collection, appearing on shirts, jerseys and jackets through a combination of print, embroidery and laser-cutting. For a series of small leather accessories, the design studio selected four paintings and worked from fragments of each to create new interpretations, applied to the Un Jour, Luti, Un Jour de Poche and Toujours models. Each piece evokes a garden at a different moment of the day, ranging from a rose garden at daybreak to a cluster of hydrangeas in full bloom to the fading light of dusk. The displays revolve around a “dialogue between impressions and sensations – what is seen and what is felt.”

On arrival, visitors were met with a large-scale quote: “I shall know a sound of footsteps that will be different from all the others.” On the second floor a quote from Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s The Little Prince reads: “It is only with the heart that one can see rightly’ what is essential is invisible to the eye.” The words set the tone for a thread running through the presentation inspired by The Little Prince, with characters and imagery from the book incorporated into a selection of accessories. A limited edition tied to the collaboration is planned for later in the year.

The presentation also included a dedicated space for restoration, with artisans on site demonstrating the Maison’s repair services. Berluti states that 97% of its products are currently repairable, “underscoring the Maison’s commitment to making objects that last.”
