Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana return to the island that has always held the answers and Vacanze Siciliane is their most sun-drenched, soulful love letter to Sicily yet

Few places on earth carry as much history as Sicily, an island that has been conquered and transformed time and time again. The Greeks, Normans, Romans, Moors, Spaniards and Bourbons are just some of the many who have left their mark on the island’s unique tapestry.

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe said “Sicily is the clue to everything.” For Spring/Summer 2027, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana look back to the place that has always held the answers. Vacanze Siciliane is a resort menswear collection that reaches into the heart of Sicily — a place of Greek temples and Baroque piazzas, ancient mosaics and open-air amphitheatres.

The collection tells its story in three movements through what the house calls the spectrum of Sicilianity. It opens in nero Sicilia, where tailoring is at its most focused and every detail earns its place. From there the wardrobe opens up, letting colour and leisure take over, before arriving finally in all white. Elsewhere the palette shifts through sand and limestone, deep sea blues, turquoise, pistachio and the pale sweetness of Sicilian granita.

Lightweight cottons, crochet knitwear and woven suede sit alongside polo shirts, jackets and classic shirting reimagined entirely in knitwear. There’s a tribute to the grand tourists of the 1950s and early 1960s through silk swimwear, chevron-striped knits and linen jackets, with lemon prints and postcard views.

The show was held in Milan, where a cinematic backdrop transported guests straight to Sicily, a world away from the city air outside. Football icon Robert Lewandowski and NBA star Kawhi Leonard were joined by Korean artist Soobin, in addition to actors Michele Morrone, Kerem Bürsin, Joel Sánchez, Taz Skylar and Emmanuel Macchia, among others in attendance.
